A delegation from the Vinča Institute, consisting of Dr. Slavko Dimović, Director of the Institute, and Prof. Dr. Miroslav Dramićanin, Deputy Chair of the Vinča Institute Governing Board, visited Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) from November 9 to 15, 2024. CQUPT is one of China’s most prestigious universities, specializing in telecommunications, information technologies, and advanced engineering sciences. Founded in 1950, the university plays a key role in advancing national strategies for digital transformation and innovation. It is renowned for its cutting-edge research centers, strong industry collaborations, and significant contributions to 5G technology and optical communications, positioning it as a leading academic and research institution in Asia.
During their stay, the delegation attended the opening of the 2024 International Conference on Industry-Education-Research-Application Integration, held on November 10 at the Shancheng Conference Center. This prestigious event brought together over 400 participants, including more than 100 international guests, representing universities, research institutes, and industrial partners. The conference focused on fostering innovation through close collaboration between education, research, and industry sectors. It aimed to create a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, encouraging joint initiatives to address current technological and societal challenges. Successful projects integrating science and industry were highlighted, emphasizing the development of practical solutions that promote economic growth and technological advancement.
The highlight of the visit was the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Vinča Institute, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Chongqing Silian Optoelectronic Science & Technology Co., Ltd. This company, a leader in the production of optoelectronic components and technologies, plays a crucial role in developing advanced solutions for industries such as telecommunications, energy, automotive, and smart infrastructure. The agreement marks a significant step in enhancing research and development capabilities, paving the way for future joint projects in optoelectronics and advanced technologies, with the goal of creating innovations with a global impact.
The following days were filled with a series of important meetings and activities. Dr. Dimović and Prof. Dramićanin attended a meeting with the Director of the International Office of CQUPT, visited the University History Museum, and engaged in discussions with students and researchers.
The visit concluded with a tour of SILIAN Instrument Group, a leading producer of precision instruments and optoelectronic devices. The company, part of Chongqing Silian Optoelectronic Science & Technology Co., Ltd., plays a pivotal role in advancing technologies applied in various industrial sectors, including telecommunications, energy, and environmental protection. During the tour, the Vinča Institute delegation explored the company’s state-of-the-art technological solutions and research projects, opening opportunities for future collaboration and knowledge exchange in optoelectronics and precision instrumentation.
