A delegation from the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, led by Director Dr. Slavko Dimović, visited the Paks Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary. In addition to Dr. Dimović, the delegation included Dr. Mirjana Kijevčanin, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Assistant Đorđe Ogrizović, and Dr. Predrag Stefanović, President of the Serbian Society of Thermal Engineers.

The visit began with a warm welcome from Mr. Pál Kovács, Chief of Staff to the Director of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, who guided the group through a tour of key areas of the facility. The delegation had the opportunity to visit the reactor hall and other infrastructure facilities, and learn about the plant’s advanced safety and management systems.

During the tour, members were introduced to the modern technologies applied at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant and best practices in the field of nuclear safety and security. Of particular interest was the visit to the specialized training center, which plays a crucial role in the education and development of human resources in nuclear technologies.

This visit marks an important step toward further strengthening collaboration between the Vinča Institute and international nuclear institutions, to implement the latest scientific and technological advancements in Serbia. In discussions with the plant’s management, opportunities for joint projects and expert exchange were explored, particularly in the context of training and the development of new technologies in nuclear energy.
