The development of the Czech nuclear program and the future application of small modular reactors were the topics of a lecture held on January 30 by Mr. Sebastian Pohe, a representative of the ČEZ Group.
ČEZ Group is engaged in introducing innovations to meet energy needs and is involved in energy distribution and sales.
At the invitation of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, and organized by the Vinča Institute, Mr. Pohe delivered the lecture.
The lecture was intended for representatives of the signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Application and Development of Nuclear Energy in the Republic of Serbia. Attendees included representatives from faculties of the University of Belgrade and the University of Novi Sad, the Directorate for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security of Serbia, the Public Company "Nuclear Facilities of Serbia," Electric Power Industry of Serbia, the Serbian Nuclear Society, as well as the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Technological Development, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia.
This lecture is part of a series of activities aimed at familiarizing the domestic professional community with the latest trends in nuclear program development worldwide.
During his visit, Mr. Pohe highlighted opportunities for establishing a partnership with Serbia through the exchange of experiences and best practices in the peaceful application of nuclear energy.
