From February 10th to 14th, 2025, the delegation of the Institute for Nuclear Sciences Vinča, consisting of the director dr. Slavko Dimović and Milan Ljušić, made an official visit to the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, in the Moscow Region.

The visit represented an important step in strengthening cooperation between the two institutions. It focused on joint research projects, knowledge exchange, and technological innovation in nuclear science.

During the visit, the representatives of the Vinča Institute got acquainted in detail with the work of JINR's leading laboratories. In the Wexler-Baldin Laboratory for High Energy Physics, they were presented with the current projects of NICA and ARIADNA. They visited the Flair Laboratory for Nuclear Reactions, known for researching heavy and superheavy elements, while the Frank Laboratory for Neutron Physics displayed advanced experiments in fundamental and applied physics.

The main focus of the visit to the JINR was the participation of the Vinča Institute delegation in the 137th session of the Scientific Council.

The representatives of the Institute actively participated in discussions about future directions for international collaboration in nuclear research. Additionally, bilateral meetings were held with the management of JINR, led by Director Academician dr. Grigori Trubnikov, to identify specific steps for strengthening cooperation and developing joint projects.

During the discussions, particular attention was given to nuclear physics, information technology, and biological research. Additionally, the potential for including young researchers from Serbia in professional development and scientific exchange programs at JINR was highlighted.

The central event was the grand opening of the LINAC facility. Representatives from the Vinča Institute, along with scientists and members of the JINR management, gathered for this significant occasion. This opening marks are important advancement in technological development and promotes the further internationalization of scientific research.

The Vinča Institute and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research have agreed to enhance their collaboration through the development of joint projects, the organization of workshops, and the exchange of experts. This initiative is expected to further solidify the relationship between the two esteemed scientific institutions.
