Prof. Dr. Miroslav Trajanović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, led the Ministry’s delegation at the meeting of the Committee of Plenipotentiary Representatives of Governments of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), held in Dubna, Russian Federation, from March 25 to 26.

Alongside Prof. Trajanović, the delegation included Dr. Marija Janković, Assistant Director for Science at the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, and MSc Svetlana Bogdanović, Senior Advisor at the Ministry.

The meeting with the Director of JINR, Academician Grigory Trubnikov, was an opportunity to analyze the current cooperation and define new possibilities for joint work. During this visit, Academician Trubnikov emphasized the significance of Serbian researchers' participation in the Institute's projects in Dubna, highlighting the high level of their contribution.

During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to tour three leading laboratories at JINR: the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, known for its factory for the production of heavy elements; the Laboratory of Radiation Biology, where the effects of radiation on biological systems are studied; and the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics, which plays a leading role in neutron interaction research.

At the concluding meeting chaired by the Chief Scientific Secretary of the Institute, Dr. Sergey Nedeljko, concrete steps for further strengthening cooperation were discussed. Topics and the framework for the upcoming visit of representatives from Dubna to the Republic of Serbia, planned for May 2025, were agreed upon.
